Theaters Tix on the cheap?
Yes you can
Many visitors to New York, especially
those with a family in tow, shy away from the theater because of the
outrageous cost of tickets.
A family of four or five can expect to break the vacation
dollar bank with $100-plus tickets to a Broadway show. Instead they take a cruise
around Manhattan or some other less expensive activity.
Unfortunately they are missing out on
one of the best experiences the Big Apple has to offer and there is
a way that insiders know about to see shows without going bankrupt
or taking a second mortgage.
A company called “Theatermania,”
offers several plateaus of membership and a means of frequently
seeing some of the top shows on the Great White Way. Much of what Theatermania
has to offer is either Off-Broadway or Off-Off-Broadway, but that
doesn’t lessen the quality of the theater-going experience. And, not infrequently, they
come up with a major bonus, such as the fabled Le Miz now playing
its second incarnation on Broadway.
For those who’ve joined Theatermania’s
“Gold Club,” tickets to virtually all of its offering are free with
just the payment of a $4.95 service charge and you can order up to
four tickets for a performance.
The aforementioned “Le Miz” came
available to Theatermania Gold Club members for the unbelievable
price of $25 plus the service charge for a max of four
tickets.

BE gives famed Blue Man
Group
A run for its
money
The famed Blue Man Group, with road
productions in any number of places from New York to Atlantic City
to Las Vegas, has pretty much had the performance art circuit to
itself.
Not any more.
The international troupe of BE by
Mayumana is taking the stage by storm.
With actors from Israel, Africa,
Spain, Mexico and Switzerland there is little that has been
missed.
The troupe launches an assault on
virtually every sensory outlet on your body. Your eyes, ears and even
your skin tingle as they romp around the stage with musical
instruments, flashing lights and acrobatic moves.
Not only are you in the audience, but
as the show moves along, you become part of it and its frantic and
frenetic pace. You’ll
leave the theater exhausted but satisfied at one of the more unique
and enjoyable theater experiences in New York.
